Energy Management

Public Health
  • Solar Energy - This project was an extension of the 2001 activity, and had three deliverables: a positioning visual, a paper documenting the economic viability of solar power in the United States, and visualization correlating stratospheric and tropospheric aerosol levels with direct normal insolation levels.

  • Coal Impoundment Monitoring - Students utilized NASA Earth Observing Sources to better understand monitoring of coal impoundments.

  • Environmental Remediation - Students investigated how NASA Earth Observing Sources could be used to determine the location of contaminants on Formerly Used Defense Sites.

Special Project
  • Portable Cave - DEVELOP students engineered a computer system to drive an inexpensive, portable variant of a CAVE, a 3-D immersion environment.

  • Software Applications - Students developed a web application for the Technology Commercialization Program Office (TCPO) at NASA Langley.
